grew up in Brooklyn, NY. After being offered a role in a European television series during some time spent living in Europe, he moved to Berlin, Germany, in 1999. Rene`s first leading role was in the film “September”, directed by the award-winning Max Färberböck, which garnered him a lot of attention at the 2002 Cannes International Film Festival where it premiered. He followed this up by playing the lead in Miguel Alexandre’s “With Love from Kashmir”, for which he was honored with one of Germany´s most prestigious awards, the Grimme Prize for best actor in 2005. He also starred in “Code of the Templars”, directed by Oscar nominated Florian Baxmeyer, and “Zorres”, directed by Anja Jacobs. Most recently he was invited to partake at the 2006 Sundance Directors Lab to play the lead in the project “My Habbibi” under the direction of Kirstin Johnston.

Published by admin December 20th, 2009 in newsGerade abgedreht, spielte Rene Ifrah als Hauptrolle zusammen mit Yvonne Catterfeld fuer den SAT 1 film mit dem Arbeits-Titel “Die Frau des Schlaefers” in Marokko und Hanover unter der Regie von Edzard Onneken.
In einer Sonder Folge der Soko-5113, spielte Rene Ifrah im Nov. 2009 an original Schauplaetzen in Muenchen und Chioggia, Italien eine Hauptrolle als Italienischer Professior mit Verstrickungen zur Calabresischen Maffia. Ausstrahlung ist vorraussichtlich im ZDF im Frueh-Jahr um 20:15.
